2008 - Previous Workshops & Events > 6 December 08 Qi Gong and Tai Ji Quan, mixed Workshop Saturday 2.00 – 6.00pm This is our last workshop this year with Shifu Liu and will be an interesting day when he will be teaching a new 'breathing' Qi Gong, the 24 Chen Spear form, and Chen Tai Ji Applications.

In this workshops Shfu will work with the students on movements 3 & 4, working on internal practice and posture correction, suitable for all levels of practice.
> 4 & 11 October Tai Ji Circle – Tai Ji Theory workshop
Saturdays: 2.00 am – 6.00 pm A special double workshop over 2 Saturdays covering tai ji quan theory. This important workshop is for all Tai Ji students of any style, both beginners and experienced practitioners and is for Tai Ji Circle members only.
> 20 September Tai Ji Circle – Medical Qi Gong Workshop Saturday 2.00 am – 6.00 pm Shifu Liu will be teaching different special medical qi gong exercises aimed to improve health, these should help both muscular pains and organic problems. Suitable for everyone to try for self healing. > 2 August Bagua Zhang – workshop 4
Shifu will continue teaching Bagua Zhang form 3, to improve movement and coordination, as well as practicing Bagua circle walking with the forms and doing posture correction. New students to Bagua are welcome to attend. > 26 July Tai Ji Circle – Da Bei Qi Gong Saturday 2.00 am – 6.00 pm An opportunity to gain some understandong of this practice, quieten the mind and experience Da Bei qi gong with Shifu Liu. Suitable for everyone to try. > 21 June Chinese Massage: Dian Xue Tui Na
This is a unique and interesting chance to learn some of the movements of Chinese pressure point massage (Dian Xue) and different massage techniques of Tui Na, with Shifu Liu who is a qualified and experienced practitioner. No experience or previous knowledge is necesaary to attend, this will be a practical workshop, so bring along a blanket/cushion and wear comfortable clothes. You will need to have very short nails!

Suitable for all, no experience is necessary even if you missed the 1st workshop ... Shifu will teach the elegant 42 part Tai Ji Fan Form step by step over the 2 workshops. This workshop will be suitable for new students who want to learn this form as well as working on the details for those who are learning it in class. We have tai ji fans for sale at £5 and £6.

> 26 April Bagua Zhang Workshop 2
In this workshop Shifu will teach the Bagua 2nd Form and revise the 1st, there will be Bagua Circle walking. New students to Bagua are welcome to attend. > 29 March + 5 April Chen Xiao Wang’s 19 part Form
The 19 part Form was created by Grandmaster Chen Xiao Wang, from the 3 main 'styles' (Laojia, Xinjia and Xiaojia) of Chen Tai ji Quan. The form has 19 movements, divided into four sections, it has different postures, practice and fajin than the 18 part Form. The choreography is easily learnt and it is designed to make the body’s energy very strong. The form will be taught over 2 workshops, step by step through the whole form, covering details of the preparatary exercises and fajin. Suitable for all levels, no experience is necessary. > 8 March Bagua Zhang Workshop During this workshop Shifu will teach the Bagua Forms, and other important elements of the practice, Bagua Qi Gong practice of standing and walking.
> 16 February Da Bei QI Gong Workshop
Time: Saturday 2.00 – 6.00pm Da Bei Qi Gong is a Buddhist based practise that is meditative with a focus on the cultivation of qi energy within the body. It can be visualised as energy entering through the head and hands from the sky and the earth with the wisdom and compassion of the Buddha, to introspection within the body on the internal organs, from the macro to the microcosm. Suitable for everyone, no experience is necessary. |
